Injection supplies, without the guesswork
Nobody starts this hobby dreaming about water and needles, but supplies are where beginners actually fumble. The compound gets all the research time, and then the order shows up and there’s nothing to mix it with. Here’s the whole kit, in the order you’ll use it.
Bacteriostatic water
The one non-negotiable. It’s sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which keeps bacteria from setting up shop in a vial you’ll be drawing from for weeks. Plain sterile water is fine for a single draw and wrong for a multi-dose vial, where the benzyl alcohol is the whole point. A 20–30 mL bottle covers months of normal use. If you only bookmark one thing on this page, make it this one.
Insulin syringes (U-100)
Everything on my reconstitution calculator assumes a standard U-100 insulin syringe, 100 units per mL. Get 29–31 gauge, 0.5 mL or 1 mL, with the needle fixed to the barrel (less dead space, less waste). Buy a box, not a handful; reusing needles is how you turn a painless habit into an infected one.
Alcohol prep wipes
One wipe for the vial stopper, one for skin, every single time. They cost almost nothing, which is exactly why skipping them is such a bad trade.
Acetic acid 0.6%
A specialty diluent. Some peptides (BPC-157 is the famous case) are more stable reconstituted in dilute acetic acid before you top up with bac water. Most compounds don’t need it. If yours does, the vial’s paperwork or the compound’s page here will say so. Skip it otherwise.
A sharps container
Used needles go in a rigid container, not your kitchen bin. A proper sharps box costs a few dollars; an empty laundry-detergent bottle with a taped lid is the acceptable budget version. Most pharmacies take full containers for free.
