Skip it. Hydrafinil myristate is a myristic acid ester of hydrafinil, sold as a longer-acting version of a compound that already barely has evidence behind it. The ester itself has zero PubMed records, not a thin evidence base, an empty one. The parent has some basic pharmacology, but the ester changes absorption, duration, and possibly the risk profile, and nobody has studied any of those changes. If you want wakefulness without a prescription, the path with data runs through modafinil, or adrafinil if you’ll accept the liver tax, not through an ester of a compound with no data of its own.

Would I take it?No. Zero data on the ester, barely any on the parent.

What it is

Hydrafinil is 9-fluorenol, a structurally distinct eugeroic research chemical in the modafinil-adjacent space, not a modafinil derivative. It’s reported to promote wakefulness through histamine and possibly dopaminergic pathways. The myristate ester attaches a 14-carbon fatty acid chain to the molecule, the same modification used in other lipophilic prodrug designs to slow absorption and extend duration. Whether it actually does that in a human is unknown, because no one has measured it. Where flmodafinil and fladrafinil at least share a core structure with modafinil, hydrafinil myristate is a fatty acid ester of a different scaffold entirely.

What the research shows

No human trials. Zero. Everything below is animal or in-vitro work. Read it as “interesting,” not “evidence it works in you.”

There is no research to review. The receipts drawer is empty:

The PubMed corpus contains zero records indexed under hydrafinil myristate.as of Aug 2026
No human trial, animal study, or in vitro experiment for hydrafinil myristate appears in the literature.as of Aug 2026

Realistic protocols

I’m not building a protocol for a compound with no evidence of any kind. The community runs hydrafinil myristate orally, typically at doses similar to the parent hydrafinil or lower, expecting a slower onset and longer duration from the ester. That expectation is structural reasoning, not data. If you want the eugeroic effect, modafinil has a real clinical history, and adrafinil offers the same effect at the cost of liver conversion. If you run hydrafinil myristate anyway, start at the lowest available dose, keep the experiment short, and don’t pretend a fatty acid ester makes an unstudied compound safe or predictable.

Side effects

No data of any kind exists for the ester. This is speculation from the parent compound’s anecdotal profile:

anecdotalHydrafinil users report headache and mild nausea. Whether the ester shares or alters this profile is unknown.
anecdotalDisrupted sleep when dosed too late, expected from any wakefulness compound.
unknownZero pharmacological data on the ester. Every assumption about absorption, duration, and risk is borrowed from the parent or from structural analogy, not from a study.
