MENT vs Trenbolone
7 sources
MENT, for an experienced lifter chasing mass and strength who can manage estrogen and prolactin precisely. Its sides have names and answer to the AI dose and a lower MENT dose, and it has real human trials, which trenbolone does not. Trenbolone only wins for a dry recomp, and only if you accept what it does to your sleep, temper, and heart. Neither is a beginner compound, and plenty of experienced users decide trenbolone is not worth it.
How they differ
Both are 19-nors from the far end of the shelf, the same family as nandrolone, and both are progestogenic, so prolactin is a job on either. The split is estrogen. MENT aromatizes into a potent estrogen, so it builds mass and strength fast with water riding along, and an aromatase inhibitor is part of the protocol from the first pin. Trenbolone does not aromatize at all: no water, a hard, dry look, and the best recomposition any injectable delivers, adding muscle while fat comes off. Wet power against dry recomp, and the sides split the same way, which is why I pick MENT. Its problems are estrogen and prolactin problems: water, sensitive nipples, mood swings, a libido that crashes when levels dip. They answer to the AI dose and a lower MENT dose, and you read them off your body as much as your panel, because a standard estradiol assay can miss MENT’s 7-alpha-methyl-estradiol. Trenbolone’s problems are night sweats, broken sleep, a shorter temper, and cardio capacity that falls off. The people around you notice the mood shift before you do, and no pill fixes that.
The rhythm barely differs. MENT acetate is a daily pin, sometimes twice; trenbolone acetate is every day or every other day. Both clear fast, which is the safety valve: if sides turn ugly, you stop and they fade within days. For strength, MENT gives the bigger, heavier jump of a real bulk, and trenbolone gives strength without scale weight, which matters if you compete in a weight class. MENT’s doses look tiny next to testosterone and trenbolone’s look ordinary, so neither number tells you anything about the other.
What the research shows
Nobody has compared these two, and the evidence differs in kind: MENT has small controlled trials from male contraception research, trenbolone has user surveys and case reports. Different evidence in different people, not a race.
MENT’s trials ran at contraceptive doses, far below what people run for size, so they describe the floor, not your cycle. Trenbolone’s surveys describe people running it for real, and the picture they paint is the one in my verdict.
How people run them
Run testosterone alone before either of these. On top of that base, MENT acetate starts at 5 to 10 mg a day, which the potency data puts near a heavy testosterone dose, with an AI from day one and cabergoline on hand; most people who stay on it settle between 10 and 25 mg a day. Trenbolone acetate starts at 150 to 200 mg a week, pinned daily or every other day, and experienced users cap it at 300 to 400 over 8 to 12 weeks. On both, start lower than you think and give each change two to three weeks before judging it.
Switching from trenbolone to MENT, usually because sleep and temper ran out, take the first MENT pin the day after your last trenbolone shot. Start at the bottom of the MENT range and start or raise the AI with it, because you are going from no added aromatization to a lot. Going from MENT to trenbolone, cut the AI back as MENT clears over a few days, or estradiol crashes, which feels like aching joints and a dead libido.
Do not run them together. Two progestogenic 19-nors double the prolactin load, put MENT’s estrogen swings on top of trenbolone’s mood, and leave you guessing which one is doing what. On either one, skip the alcohol, protect your sleep, and ask someone you trust to tell you if you are being different. Both shut you down completely and fast, so plan the PCT or accept that you are staying on.
Side effects, side by side
Both bring prolactin and full shutdown; MENT adds estrogen, trenbolone takes your sleep and your temper:
