RAD-140 vs LGD-4033
6 sources
If you are set on one of these two, run LGD-4033. It builds the size people come for and runs calmer in the head, but the bill is real: it suppresses your testosterone, crushes lipids, holds water, and carries its own liver risk. RAD-140 is for someone chasing dry strength who accepts a louder liver record and a shorter fuse to get it. Never stack them, and run a full PCT after either. If neither trade sounds worth it, ostarine is the SARM I would actually point you to.
How they differ
On raw output these two are close, the two strongest SARMs people actually run, and both behave like oral steroids with a nicer label. The difference is what the gains look like and what they cost. LGD-4033 makes you bigger: full, round, and heavier on the scale within a couple of weeks, with a few pounds of water that leave when you stop. RAD-140 makes you harder: little water, a strength jump early, a drier look, and a temper the people around you notice before you do.
The costs differ in kind. Both suppress your testosterone hard and drag HDL down, with RAD-140 a notch heavier on suppression. The liver is where RAD-140 earns the louder warning: it hits the liver harder than the selective label suggests, and the case reports are young men at gym doses. LGD-4033 has liver case reports too, so the liver is a reason for bloodwork on either, not a reason to pick one. What decides it is the goal. LGD-4033 is the size SARM, water included, and it runs calmer; RAD-140 is drier and more aggressive. That is why LGD-4033 gets my pick when size is the goal.
RAD-140 wins one case: a cut or recomp where you want to look dry, since LGD-4033’s water blurs the picture. Day to day the rhythm is identical. One capsule a day, and both clear slowly, so the time you take it barely matters and a missed day changes nothing. If both of these sound like more than you want to recover from, ostarine is the step down, milder in every direction.
What the research shows
Nobody has run these two against each other. Each has one human trial, in very different people at very different doses, plus liver case reports:
Different trials, different people, doses at least 50 times apart, so the enzyme numbers do not make LGD-4033 safe and RAD-140 dangerous. They say both can hit the liver, and RAD-140 has the louder record.
How people run them
Both run the same shape: one capsule a day for eight weeks, bloodwork before and after, a full PCT when it ends. What differs is the scale. LGD-4033 starts at 5 mg and RAD-140 at 10, so a milligram of one tells you nothing about the other. On either, hold the starting dose while strength and fullness keep coming. Going up buys more suppression and liver load for a difference most people cannot see in the mirror.
There is no good reason to switch mid-cycle. Between cycles, recover fully first, with bloodwork back to baseline, then start the other one at its own entry dose. The usual moves: bloated on LGD-4033 and want a drier look next time, go to RAD-140; temper or liver panel went sideways on RAD-140, go to LGD-4033.
Forums stack the two. Skip it. You double the suppression and the liver load, and when the bloodwork comes back ugly you cannot tell which one did it.
Recovery is the same after either: a SERM for four weeks, starting about a week after the last capsule, because both clear slowly and an early start wastes the first week. Skip the alcohol the whole way through; both stress the liver, and drinking on top is how people end up in the case reports. Expect libido and energy to dip by mid-cycle on either. Get a third-party COA before the first capsule, because this market gets the label wrong often. Both are WADA-banned, with no short detection window on either.
Side effects, side by side
Same suppression and lipid hit on both; LGD-4033 adds water, RAD-140 adds temper and the louder liver record:
