Ipamorelin vs CJC-1295
8 sources
Most people run both, drawn into one syringe, and so would I. They are not rivals: CJC-1295 is the GHRH half that primes your pituitary, ipamorelin is the ghrelin-side half that pulls the trigger, and together they make a bigger pulse than either alone. If you only run one, make it ipamorelin, because it fires a clean pulse on its own while CJC-1295 alone mostly turns up the volume on pulses you already have. Run CJC-1295 in its no-DAC form, not the DAC one.
How they differ
Your pituitary releases growth hormone when two signals line up: GHRH from your hypothalamus saying release, and a ghrelin-type signal saying now. CJC-1295 is a modified GHRH. Ipamorelin is a secretagogue on the ghrelin side, meaning it tells your pituitary to fire a pulse of your own GH. Each gets a response alone. Together they hit both locks at once, and that synergy is the whole reason the pair became the default way into the GH axis.
The difference you feel is small, because you rarely run one without the other and both bring the same brief flush after the shot. The choice that does change your week is which CJC-1295. The no-DAC form clears fast and fires with the ipamorelin pulse. The DAC form hooks onto albumin in your blood and keeps GH raised for days, a steady bleed that blurs the pulse pattern your body runs on. Most people who try both forms settle on no-DAC, and that is the one I’d put in the syringe.
If sermorelin or tesamorelin came up in the same search, both sit in CJC-1295’s slot, not ipamorelin’s. Sermorelin is the older GHRH that wants more pins a day; tesamorelin is the approved one for visceral belly fat. Either can partner ipamorelin. Neither is a reason to drop it.
What the research shows
Nobody has trialed the two against each other, or the pair in people. Each half has its own short paper trail, from different studies in different people:
Days of raised GH from the DAC molecule against one ipamorelin pulse that peaks and clears. No-DAC has no receipt of its own, but it is built to clear fast like the second, not linger like the first, and that is my case for putting the no-DAC form in the syringe with ipamorelin.
How people run them
The standard is one shot with both peptides in it, sub-q, on an empty stomach before bed, riding your natural overnight GH surge. Draw both into the same syringe after reconstituting each vial separately. Keep about two hours between your last meal and the shot, because food, carbs and fat especially, blunts the pulse. That earlier dinner is the real lifestyle change on this stack, and a few drinks close to the shot blunt it too.
Neither peptide rewards piling on. Both saturate at a modest dose, so more mostly buys water retention and numb hands, not more GH. Once a night is the floor; add a morning or pre-training shot of the same pair if you want more coverage. Reassess every couple of months rather than running it forever on autopilot.
Starting with only one, run ipamorelin alone for a few weeks, see how the flush and the water sit with you, then add CJC-1295 to the same syringe. If you went DAC, the rhythm splits: CJC-1295 once or twice a week, ipamorelin still nightly. Switching from DAC to no-DAC, start the nightly no-DAC dose on the day your next DAC pin was due. The DAC already on board tapers over the following week, so there is nothing to wait out.
Side effects, side by side
Near-identical and mild; the pair mostly adds up what raised GH does:
