UBT251
weak data3 sources
Not yet. UBT251 is a real triple agonist with real phase 2 numbers, and they look like the class they belong to, but you can’t buy the molecule from those trials with any confidence. Nobody has publicly tied the clinical structure to a compound a vendor could make, so a gray-market vial labeled UBT251 is an unverified powder with a borrowed name. If you want a triple agonist, run retatrutide, which has the longer trials, the phase 3 data, and years of community mileage. UBT251 is the one to watch.
What it is
UBT251 is a once-weekly peptide from China’s United Biotechnology that hits the same three receptors as retatrutide: GLP-1 and GIP for the appetite and blood-sugar side, glucagon for the extra energy burn. Same class, same pitch. Novo Nordisk licensed it in 2025 and runs it under the code NN9559, which tells you a serious company thinks the triple-agonist race is worth a second horse. “Vistrutide” is not that company’s name for it. Sellers coined it to make a vial sound like a sibling of retatrutide, and it carries no official standing at all.
On the shelf it sits behind retatrutide on data and certainty, ahead of metatrutide, which has almost nothing published. If the program holds up, it lands where tirzepatide and semaglutide already live: a pharmacy drug. Until then, the trials are interesting and the vials are a guess.
What the research shows
Two phase 2 trials and a first-in-human study, all short, all in Chinese adults, all promising. Nothing longer, nothing phase 3:
Realistic protocols
My protocol for UBT251 is retatrutide. The trial molecule might be every bit as good, but the vial you can buy is the problem: with no public structure to check it against, even a clean COA only tells you the powder is pure, not that it’s UBT251. You’d be dosing an unknown peptide at a dose borrowed from a different one.
If you run it anyway, run it like the incretin it claims to be. Start at the bottom, sub-q once a week, and let hunger set the pace: if appetite stays quiet, hold there, because a low dose that works is winning, not underdosing. Raise only when real hunger returns, and give each change about a month before judging it. The phase 1b ran 1, 3 and 6 mg; I wouldn’t go past that ceiling on a vial nobody can verify. Skip the drinking, too. Alcohol sits badly on a slowed gut across this whole class, and booze on a triple agonist is a reliable route to a rough night. Keep protein high and keep lifting, because a fast cut eats muscle if you let it.
Side effects
In the trials it behaved like a strong incretin, gut first:
