Pinealon is a Khavinson bioregulator peptide with a handful of small, uncontrolled human studies, no randomized trials, and one genuine safety flag. I would not run it. If you are drawn to the bioregulator theory, semax and noopept have more human data and sit higher on the shelf.

Would I take it?Not enough data to trust it.

What it is

A synthetic tripeptide from Vladimir Khavinson’s bioregulator research program. The theory: short peptides matching sequences found in regulatory proteins enter cells, reach the nucleus, and modulate gene expression. The cell-penetration claim rests on a study that observed fluorescence-labeled pinealon inside the nuclei of HeLa cells, a cancer cell line in a dish, not neurons in a person. Rodent stress models and small occupational studies in humans make up the rest. What is missing is controlled human evidence that any of this translates to a cognitive outcome you would notice.

What the research shows

Small occupational studies, no placebo arms, no blinding, and one safety flag. The total published human exposure is a few hundred people across three uncontrolled studies.

In locomotive workers, a two-week course of pinealon at 100 micrograms twice daily improved biological-age parameters and indicators of adaptive-reaction effectiveness.Adv Gerontol 2012 · occupational study
In 150 truck drivers and 150 metal craftsmen, combined pinealon and Vezugen produced the best reported peptide effect on psychoemotional indices and work-stress resistance.Adv Gerontol 2013 · occupational study · n=300
In 32 people aged 41 to 83 given pinealon and Vesugen together, investigators reported prooxidant activity and reduced blood stem-cell markers, interpreted as significant hemopoiesis inhibition.Adv Gerontol 2015 · human study · n=32

Realistic protocols

The Khavinson bioregulators are run in courses, not continuously. Most people take pinealon for 10 to 20 days, then rest for a few months before repeating. The human study used oral capsules at 100 micrograms twice daily, and that remains the anchor dose. Some in the community inject sub-q instead, following the general bioregulator practice, though the published human data is all oral.

Community lore says the effect, if any, is subtle calm or slightly sharper recall under load, typically showing during the second week. If a full course does nothing, repeating at the same dose will not change the outcome.

Side effects

Very little human safety data exists, and what there is carries a flag:

monitorOne study of pinealon and Vesugen given together reported prooxidant activity and reduced blood stem-cell markers. Not a proven harm from pinealon alone, but not a finding to ignore.
anecdotalMild drowsiness or light headache during the first days of a course, reported occasionally in bioregulator community logs.
unknownNo long-term safety data in any population. The total human exposure in published studies is a few hundred people across uncontrolled studies.
