Almost nothing exists on chlodantane. One Russian review from 1999 mentions it alongside bromantane as an adamantane derivative with animal actoprotector activity, and that is the entire indexed literature. No human study, no safety data, no pharmacokinetics. If the adamantane angle interests you, bromantane has actual use behind it. Chlodantane is a catalog entry, not a compound with a record.
What it is
Chlodantane is an adamantane derivative, a close structural relative of bromantane from the same Russian actoprotector research program. In animals it was described as a rapid-action adaptogenic agent that enhanced resistance to physical and chemical stress. Together with bromantane, it showed immunostimulating effects in secondary stress-induced immunodeficiencies, attributed to membrane-protective activity. That description comes from a single 1999 review of 329 adamantane derivatives, and nothing since has added to it.
The mechanism story is plausible, the adamantane scaffold has real pharmacology, but chlodantane itself has never been characterized beyond this overview. No binding profile, no dose-response work, no comparison to its better-known sibling. It exists in the literature as a footnote to bromantane.
