AHK-Cu has one lab paper, zero human trials, and a marketing story that runs miles ahead of the data. It is a copper tripeptide in the GHK-Cu family with a plausible mechanism for hair and skin, and that is exactly where the evidence stops. I would try the topical for hair, but I would not count on it. If you want copper peptides with actual receipts, GHK-Cu itself has more behind it.
What it is
A copper-complexed tripeptide, L-alanyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine bound to a copper ion. It sits in the same family as GHK-Cu, the more studied copper peptide used in skin and hair products, and the marketing pitch is that AHK-Cu is the version optimized for hair follicle stimulation. A single 2007 laboratory study, hair follicles in a dish and dermal papilla cells in culture, is the entire published basis for that pitch. Some clinics also offer AHK-Cu by injection in mesotherapy cocktails, but the injectable route has no more evidence behind it than the topical, and the topical is the safer starting point.

Realistic protocols
There is no studied human protocol for AHK-Cu, so what follows is community practice, not evidence. People run it topically in serums at roughly 1-5% concentration applied to the scalp or face daily. Some clinics use it in mesotherapy sessions, microneedling AHK-Cu solution into the scalp every few weeks. The topical route is low-risk enough that trying it is reasonable, but the one published paper tested picomolar concentrations in a dish, not percentages on a person. Keep expectations calibrated and give it a few months before you judge it.
Side effects
No documented human side effects, for better or worse:
