Anavar vs Winstrol
7 sources
Anavar, if you can verify what is in the capsule. Both are dry cutting compounds run on a testosterone base, but anavar holds muscle through a diet and leaves your joints alone, and it is the only one of the two I’d hand a woman. Winstrol is the harder, drier finisher for someone already lean with healthy knees, and it charges more in lipids and joints for that last bit of polish. Don’t run them together. If you can’t verify your anavar, a fair share of it is winstrol in a capsule anyway, and turinabol is the honest swap.
How they differ
The difference you feel is in your joints. Winstrol dries everything, including the joints you train on, and achy, creaky knees and elbows are the most consistent complaint anyone running it has. Anavar’s signature annoyance is pumps tight enough in the lower back and shins to cut a cardio session short. Neither converts to estrogen, so neither bloats you, and both hit HDL. Winstrol hits it harder.
That decides who each one is for. Anavar holds and adds a little lean tissue while calories are low, so it earns its place at any stage of a cut, and it is mild enough that women run it at small doses. Winstrol does little you can see until you are already lean; then it is the hard, grainy, vascular look for the last weeks before a show. In a woman it virilizes faster than anavar, so the female answer is anavar, low, or nothing.
The fake market ties the two together: anavar is the most counterfeited steroid there is, and winstrol is often what fills the counterfeit. A third-party COA is the only way to know which one you are actually comparing, and if you can’t get one, turinabol is the cleaner oral to look at instead. If the lean finish is the goal and you want to skip the joint toll, masteron does a similar job with fewer tradeoffs.
What the research shows
Anavar’s file is wasting and injured patients, winstrol’s is venous disease, and neither drug has ever shared a trial:
Different trials, different patients, different units, so these numbers don’t rank the two. What they agree on is that both cut HDL and both load the liver, and winstrol did it at a small fraction of what lifters take.
How people run them
Either one goes on top of a testosterone base, never solo. Both shut your own production down, so plan the PCT or accept TRT before the first pill. Check lipids and liver before and after on both, and skip the alcohol for the whole run: these are 17-alpha-alkylated orals, and your liver is already busy.
Men run anavar at 20 to 50 mg a day, split morning and evening, starting at 20 and raising only if nothing shows; women run 5 to 10. Winstrol runs 25 to 50 mg a day orally, also split, or 50 mg every other day as the water-based injectable, which skips the liver’s first pass but makes for famously sore shots. Anavar can start earlier in the diet because it is working on muscle, not just the look. Winstrol belongs at the end, and on it, take joint support seriously: fish oil, glucosamine, and lighter loads than your ego wants.
Switching from anavar to winstrol mid-cut is common, usually because the show is close. Go straight from one to the other, no washout, but your liver and lipids don’t reset because the label changed: six to eight weeks of oral is the total, not eight of each. People do stack the two for a show, and I wouldn’t: two 17-alpha-alkylated orals double the liver and lipid hit for a slightly drier look. Anavar through the cut and a switch to winstrol for the last weeks gets you both effects, one oral at a time.
Side effects, side by side
Same liver and lipid load on both; winstrol adds the joints:
