Primobolan vs Anavar
6 sources
Anavar, for most people and for nearly every woman. Both are sold as the mild option and both are faked constantly, so test either one before you trust it. Anavar holds muscle through a cut and stops fast; primo is a slow, expensive injectable that needs 12 to 16 weeks to show. Primo makes sense for a man who wants a long, mild lean phase without an oral’s liver load, has the budget, and can verify the vial.
How they differ
The biggest difference is how long you are committed. Anavar is a daily pill: start it, stop it, and it is gone in days. Primo is mostly run as the enanthate, a long-acting ester pinned twice a week, which builds slowly and keeps working for weeks after the last shot. For a man that just means a longer cycle. For a woman it is the whole decision. If your voice starts to drop on anavar, you stop and the drug clears; on primo enanthate it keeps acting after you notice. That is why anavar at 5 to 10 mg is the standard female cutting compound, and primo for women is an experienced-user call at low doses, not a starting point.
Neither converts to estrogen, so neither brings water. Anavar is the stronger of the two milligram for milligram; primo’s mild reputation comes partly from the fact that it takes 400 to 600 mg a week to do much. The trade is where each one costs you. Anavar is a 17-alpha-alkylated oral that taxes your liver. Primo injected skips the liver and taxes your wallet instead. Oral primo, the acetate, exists, but the doses it needs make it impractical; if you want a pill, anavar is the pill that works at sane doses.
On hair, both are DHT-derived, and both will thin it if you are prone. Neither is hair-safe. A short anavar run at its low androgenic load is the smaller exposure; four months of primo is the bigger one. And check what you bought: without a third-party COA, a lot of primo is masteron or low-dose test, and a lot of anavar is winstrol.
If masteron is the third name in your search, it is the cheaper hardener for someone already lean, a finisher rather than a cutting compound, and neither of these needs it for a cut.
What the research shows
Nobody has trialed these against each other, and only one of them has trials anywhere near body composition:
Different trials, different patients. Less virilizing than testosterone propionate is a low bar, set at cancer doses, and it does not make primo female-friendly.
How people run them
Men run either one on a testosterone base. Both shut your own production down, and the exit is a PCT or TRT for life. Lipids before, during, and after on both, liver too on anavar. Cut the alcohol on anavar; primo spares the liver, but it still moves your lipids, so drinking isn’t free on either.
Anavar is 20 to 50 mg a day for men, split morning and evening, starting at 20, for six to eight weeks. Women take 5 to 10 mg. Primo is 400 to 600 mg a week for a lean phase, or 300 to 400 to hold muscle on a cut, split into two pins, for 12 to 16 weeks; a short primo run is money spent before it shows. Women who run primo at all keep it low and accept the long tail.
There is no clean swap between them: anavar stops in days, and primo takes weeks to build. The classic mild cut runs them together instead: test and primo for the whole cycle, anavar riding the last six to eight weeks. It works. It also stacks two lipid hits, so the bloodwork is the price of admission.
Side effects, side by side
Both mild by steroid standards; anavar’s cost is the liver, primo’s is time and lipids:
